TimeLink offers the accuracy and convenience of biometric
technology in its HandPunch. Leveraging the unique geometry of the hand
to verify the identity of a user, the HandPunch has proven itself as a
practical and precise solution. Smarter than card-based terminals, there
are no cards to create, administer, carry - or lose.

How Does it Work?
The HandPunch measures the unique size and shape of
the fingers of the hand (not fingerprints). A low-level infrared light
(100 milliwatts, similar to remote controls for TVs, VCRs, etc.) and a
CCD camera record a 3D image of the hand, which is converted to an algorithm.
The mathematical value is stored as a template and is used as a point
of reference each time an employee uses the device.
Benefits
|
|
Eliminates Badges and Buddy Punching
The HandPunch verifies the identity of an individual based on unique
features of the hand rather than steal-able and lose-able items like
badges, passwords, or keys. As employees are required to present their
hand as identification, the HandPunch dramatically reduces time fraud
or “buddy punching.” Increased accuracy and reduced time theft will
ultimately maximize payroll accuracy and lower payroll costs for your
organization, ensuring that corporate pay policies are fairly applied.

|
Versatile and Programmable
Beyond a simple time clock, the HandPunch provides definable function
keys that allow data collection when employees punch. The systems
transmit data to the time and attendance host PC through a variety
of options. |
|
|
Highly Accurate Employee Verification
The HandPunch is 99.9% accurate in all types of environments from
the office to the manufacturing floor. |
|
|
Fast and Easy to Use
The HandPunch verifies employees' identities in less than one second,
based on the unique size and shape of their hands. HandPunch clearly
notifies each user of a match using red and green indicator lights.
Over 15 employees can be verified on a single device in 1 minute.
